Equalization of Assets to Heirs

Situation

Father has 3 children.  One of them is operating within the business, 2 others are creating their own career paths outside the business and are not involved within the family business.  He has assets that are of unequal value (1 property and some cash).  Majority of his assets are in the business.

Problem

He wants to protect the business and transfer it to the next generation, but in a fair manner, especially since his business is the majority of the asset.  He wanted to equalize it with the other children.

Solution

We helped rearranged the Father's asset allocation such that the amount of transfer of asset allocation portfolio would be evenly spread out amongst 3 children in a fair manner.
